To observe the behavior of reticulocytes and other newly formed red blood cells (young erythrocytes) to the action of specific hemolytic serum, we used acetylphenylhydrazine to bring about the destructiotl of all the erythrocytes within the circulation, with the possibility of inducing an intense and prompt regeneration according to experiments previously described.4
